Annual awards program recognizes innovation in the global remote technology industry.
Industry-leading visual communications software company TechSmith Corporation announced today that it has been awarded the ‘Overall Remote Employee IT Support Solution of the Year’ award in the 2020 RemoteTech Breakthrough Awards conducted by RemoteTech Breakthrough, a leading independent market intelligence organization that evaluates and recognizes standout technology companies, products, and services empowering remote work and distributed teams around the globe.
For more than 30 years, TechSmith has helped thousands of businesses and millions of users worldwide create and share professional-quality content that drives results. The company’s flagship products, Snagit and Camtasia, help users create and share images and videos for better training, tutorials, lessons, and everyday communication. This year, TechSmith offered a temporary free version of Snagit to support teams transitioning to remote work and online learning in response to COVID-19.
“As technology users ourselves, we know that the most frustrating part of asking for IT help is communicating exactly what the problem is,” said Wendy Hamilton, CEO of TechSmith. “Our Snagit software solution provides both ends of a support inquiry the tools needed for success – a way to quickly screenshot or screen record an issue, and an annotation and step tool for IT support teams to create easy-to-follow instructions. These support solutions are critically important for remote workers, and streamlining the IT process has a direct result in increasing the productivity and success of remote teams. We are extremely proud to receive this 2020 RemoteTech Breakthrough Award in recognition of our hard work and success in empowering remote teams with brilliantly simple remote IT solutions.”
Nominated in the ‘Help Desk and Customer Support’ awards category, TechSmith’s unique software tools make submitting support tickets easier, with clear documentation showing IT Help Desk teams exactly what the user sees. The company’s 2020 Snagit update gives users the ability to share information directly through Slack and other remote communication channels. From March to July 2020, Snagit saw paid active user growth of over 100%, with users in the month of June capturing 350,000 images and 90,000 videos.
“We are honored to award TechSmith ‘Overall Remote Employee IT Support Solution of the Year’ at this year’s RemoteTech Breakthrough Awards for the company’s software tools helping remote teams better communicate and remote IT Help Desk teams better support their workforce,” said Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director of RemoteTech Breakthrough Awards. “As teams scrambled to shift to remote work and students to remote learning this year in response to COVID-19, TechSmith was at the forefront with compelling IT and support solutions, including temporarily offering a free version of Snagit to help ease the transition. We are proud to name them a 2020 RemoteTech Breakthrough Award winner, and we extend our sincere congratulations to the entire TechSmith team on their well-deserved industry recognition.”
